SEOUL, South Korea — June 26, 2025 — Zigbang, South Korea’s leading proptech company, today announced a strategic partnership with LG HelloVision to enter the smart home rental market. The two companies have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop and promote rental-based smart home solutions, beginning with a lineup of AI-powered door locks.
Under the MOU, the two companies will collaborate on identifying and launching smart home rental products, developing joint sales and marketing strategies, and strengthening cooperation across their respective sales channels.
By leveraging the accessibility of the rental model, Zigbang aims to make its smart home technologies more approachable and trusted by everyday consumers.
As the first initiative under the partnership, Zigbang’s latest smart door locks—launched earlier this year—are now available via LG HelloVision’s rental platform, HelloRental. The featured products include:
- Haven: A passwordless AI-powered door lock with facial recognition
- Urban: A fingerprint-based smart lock with energy-efficient Wi-Fi
Released in January, Haven is Korea’s first smart lock to eliminate the traditional numeric keypad, utilizing AI-powered facial recognition and mobile key technology to enhance both convenience and security. Urban offers fast, accurate fingerprint recognition and is equipped with a low-power Wi-Fi chip for improved battery efficiency. Both models are compatible with the Zigbang Smart Home app, offering remote door access, real-time entry tracking, and additional smart features.
Zigbang and LG HelloVision also plan to expand their collaboration through cross-promotional activities between Zigbang’s Smart Home platform and HelloRental’s online stores. Upcoming initiatives may include exclusive rental packages and newly released smart devices.
This partnership marks a significant step in evolving rental services—traditionally focused on home appliances—into the broader smart home sector, allowing more consumers to enjoy connected, tech-enabled living. LG HelloVision’s nationwide cable TV infrastructure is expected to accelerate smart home adoption across Korea.
“We plan to broaden our customer base among rental users who prioritize hands-on product experiences,” said Jinwoo Jung, Vice President at Zigbang. “Through our close collaboration with LG HelloVision, we’ll make it easier for people to naturally experience Zigbang’s smart home technologies in their everyday lives.”
