Zigbang Launches ‘Alpha,’ an AI-Powered Lobby Phone with Passwordless Entry

Seoul, Korea – May 21, 2025

Zigbang, South Korea’s leading proptech company, announced today the launch of ‘Alpha’ (model ZH-L70), an AI-powered lobby phone that enables password-free building access through facial recognition and smartphone-based entry.

Following the debut of its first passwordless smart lock ‘Haven’ earlier this year, Zigbang’s new lobby phone expands the company’s AIoT-powered product lineup. Alpha eliminates the traditional numeric keypad entirely, replacing it with advanced biometric authentication and mobile app integration to address growing concerns about password leaks and security vulnerabilities.

Equipped with AI facial recognition and voice recognition capabilities, the device ensures stable performance even in complex usage environments. It also features asymmetric encryption based on public key infrastructure (PKI) to protect sensitive user data. Residents can access their buildings using either facial recognition or a mobile key tag via the Zigbang Smart Home app. The app also enables remote door control, video calls, and visitor management.

Visitors can speak the building and unit number at the entrance, and the AI system routes the call directly to the resident’s smartphone. Time-limited QR passes or temporary PINs can also be issued for short-term access.

Depending on the property, the Zigbang Smart Home app may also support additional features such as announcement boards, maintenance requests, community facility reservations, smart parking, and even digital voting—all from a single interface.

Developed as a full-scale AIoT platform, the Zigbang Smart Home app is designed to connect with a growing ecosystem of smart devices. It supports features tailored to different lifestyles, such as real-time notifications when children are late coming home, automatic indoor climate control aligned with work schedules, and AI-driven health and activity recommendations based on user preferences and weather conditions.

With Alpha, Zigbang is formally entering the B2B smart home market. On May 14, the company completed its first installation of the device at Geunam Honorsville 2nd Complex in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

The installed building was also equipped with a cloud-based admin system for property managers. This platform allows for efficient registration of residents, deliveries, and regular visitors, while supporting remote maintenance, real-time security updates, and centralized control.

Zigbang is also developing an “AI Security Office” system capable of handling voice-based visitor interactions 24/7 when management personnel are unavailable. All conversations and access logs are recorded and made accessible to property staff via the platform.

“Alpha is a breakthrough device that transforms apartment building access with cloud-based security and AI-powered convenience,” said Ahn Sung-woo, CEO of Zigbang. “We will continue building a comprehensive AIoT smart home ecosystem that serves both residents and property managers.”
